Buttermilk Biscuits

2 cups self-rising flour
⅓ cup Crisco
⅓ cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 450°.  Lightly grease baking sheet.

Cut shortening into flour and gradually stir in buttermilk for about 1 minute; do not overmix.  Roll out dough about ½ inch thick and cut into rounds, then place on baking sheet.

Bake at 450° for 8 minutes.  Brush with melted butter before serving.
